Getting in touch with my emo side While I love listening to alternative, metal, punk and hard rock, I also have a soft spot for emo bands. Not the ones that are really mainstream as in bands like My Chemical Romance or Bring Me the Horizon with the exception of All Time Low, I'm talking about first-wave/second-wave emo bands like Jawbreaker, Jimmy Eat World, Sunny Day Real Estate and my all-time favorite, Samiam. Whenever I listen to Capsized and it gets to the chorus, the angst and the nostalgic feeling immediately hits me. To be honest, My Chemical Romance's second album actually smashes (in a positive way), but the band overall isn't my favorite. There's also Cartel's Honestly which is my favorite song from the mid 00's emo-pop era. You can also hear it on my homepage. Oh right, I forgot to mention Rites of Spring and Dag Nasty! Those bands I also love. As for the fashion, I would rather dress like the OG emo fans than the signature MySpace "swooped bangs" look. No hate to them, in fact I respect the late 00's emo subculture a lot but since I am a nerd, I would go for the former.

I remember downloading this album with SoulSeek and listening to it few times but I deleted the album for some reason later on. Hmm... The same goes for The Get Up Kids's 1999 album. (I forgot the name)
